Just got back from a weekend of busting ghosts in a Korean persimmon farming village. See, traditionally in this village, under the light of the first full moon of the lunar year, the men would march out, playing their traditional instruments in each home, shed, barn and orchard to rid the village of ghosts and tokkaebi (small monsters).
But all the men of the village are gone, and al that’s left is a bunch of elderly widows left defenseless against the things that go bump in the night. That’s why every time I’m in Korea, I round up a group of friends and fellow foreigners to do a little Ghostbusting.
